Dentsu Selected as a Component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for Second Consecutive Year

— Also selected as a component of DJSI Asia Pacific for ninth consecutive year —

Dentsu Group Inc. (Tokyo: 4324; ISIN: JP3551520004; President & Global CEO: Hiroshi Igarashi; Head Office: Tokyo; Capital: 74,609.81 million yen; the Company and its Group companies are hereinafter collectively referred to as “dentsu”) is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific), a global ESG (Environment, Society, Governance) investment index. This is the second consecutive year the Company has been selected for the DJSI World Index and the ninth consecutive year for the DJSI Asia Pacific Index.

DJSI*1 is a stock index developed jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices (US) and RobecoSAM (Switzerland) in 1999, which evaluates and selects businesses that lead in sustainability through an integrated analysis of the world's major companies in terms of its three criteria: economic, environmental, and social. In 2024, 321 companies (among them, 35 Japanese companies and 9 companies from the media and entertainment sector, including the Company) were selected from approximately 2,500 worldwide for the index. Additionally, the Company was also selected for DJSI Asia Pacific, which is comprised of companies in the Asia-Pacific region, for the ninth consecutive year.

The Company believes that not only its leading initiatives in each sustainability area, but also the significant expansion of sustainability-related disclosure through its integrated reports*2 and website were successful in leading to this selection. The Company obtained particularly high scores in areas including “Environmental responses with a focus on CO2 reduction” and “Transparency in tax compliance”*3.

In addition to DJSI, the Company has also been selected as a constituent of FTSE4Good and FTSE Blossom Japan. The Company will strive to continue being selected for new and ongoing major indexes in the sustainability area.

Dentsu positions advancing sustainability as an important initiative that forms the core of its value creation and is focusing on the following climate action*4.

• Reduction of CO2 emissions: 46.2% reduction from 2019 levels by FY2030

• Renewable energy usage: 100% by FY2030 (in markets where available)

• Employee engagement score improvement and promotion of DEI*5: 45% female leadership ratio by FY2030

This year, dentsu updated its 2030 Sustainability Strategy*6, which aims to achieve sustainability for dentsu and society by “Generating ideas for the future to solve challenges facing society.” As a B2B2S (Business to Business to Society) company, dentsu will continue to work with clients and other stakeholders to contribute to the further growth of client companies on a global scale and to the resolution of social issues while striving to sustainably enhance corporate value through a variety of initiatives and businesses extending beyond the field of advertising communications.
