Creating a corporate culture of Integrity and better corporate governance
As a company with 120 years of history, the Group has gained profound insights into the structural changes occurring in industry and society. In the dynamic business environment where we operate, the convergence of marketing, technology, and consulting is increasingly evident. In response to these changes, our group has been diligently enhancing both business and governance, fostering collaboration across organizational and national borders to enhance the Group’s tangible and intangible corporate value.
While the Group has striven to improve corporate governance over recent years, the current landscape demands even greater transparency and accountability. To demonstrate this commitment, we have established the position of Global Chief Governance Officer (Global CGO), responsible for better corporate governance across the Group. Personally, I feel a strong sense of responsibility in assuming this role.
The Group’s business involves providing integrated solutions that contribute to our clients’ development. Moreover, we aspire to address societal challenges alongside our clients. This philosophy, encapsulated in our management policy “B2B2S”, underscores the symbiotic relationship between business and governance, the twin pillars supporting our value proposition. While maintaining a focus on business quality, we recognize the equal importance of high-quality governance.
In times of significant business transformation, relying solely on experience becomes increasingly challenging. What guiding principles should employees follow during such periods? I believe the answer lies in integrity; the concept stated in the Dentsu Group Code of Conduct. Integrity encompasses ethics and sincerity. We approach all activities with integrity, self-correct when needed, and foster an environment where open dialogue is encouraged.
Ultimately, governance is about people. If necessary, we will reevaluate the corporate culture and values we have cultivated thus far. Although cultural shifts take time, our unwavering commitment is to instill a culture that places ethics and integrity at the forefront. As the Global CGO, I am dedicated to ensuring our diverse talent thrives, contributing to our group’s future. Furthermore, Dentsu Group Inc. shall put effective corporate governance into practice in order to fulfil its responsibilities to all stakeholders (such as its shareholders, clients, partners, employees and consumers) and to ensure sustainable growth and enhance medium-to long-term corporate value.
