Global Chief HR Officer Message

Winning by developing Integrated Growth Partners
At dentsu, we aim to be an Integrated Growth Partner that supports the growth of our clients and society, with a core focus on businesses created by people. The essence of our business model is that employees with wide-ranging expertise combine their skills, enhance their creativity, and create innovative solutions to our clients’ growth challenges.
Now that technology is evolving and society is undergoing major changes, we are increasingly convinced that it is people who can see potential, use it effectively, and transform it into value. We continue to embrace the client-centric mindset that finds purpose in seeing clients thrive, and we continue to take on the challenge of turning change into opportunity.
The foundation of a company’s sustainable growth is an organization in which each employee has the desire to contribute and grow and continues to explore possibilities. Our Human Resources (HR) Function has a policy of “believing in the brilliance of our people and empowering them,” and supports growth opportunities and collaboration so that we can combine wide-ranging expertise to provide impactful Integrated Growth Solutions (IGS).
Aiming to become an organization that wins through its people, we are pursuing three key initiatives. The first is People Growth—supporting employee growth and deepening expertise. The second is Winning as One Team—fostering deep collaboration and energizing our organization. The third is HR Partnership Excellence—uniting HR and business teams to drive growth.
The overall picture of a HR strategy that energizes our people
We are currently implementing various activities to put this HR strategy into practice, but here are some of the main ones. First, we have formulated the “dentsu Leadership Attributes (dLA),” which systematize leadership behaviours, as the foundation for realizing People Growth. Set to launch globally as a unified standard in 2025, dLA is already being embedded into key HR processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning. Furthermore, as part of our talent development using the dLAs, leaders regularly hold People Discussion sessions to review employee growth and development plans. In 2024, the scope expanded significantly within Japan. Today, it covers over 4,000 employees.

Additionally, in Winning as One Team, we are focusing on creating an environment where all professionals can work together with high engagement. We have been listening to the voices of our employees through annual global surveys and taking action to improve the quality of dialogue between leaders and employees in response to those voices.
Furthermore, in terms of HR Partnership Excellence, we are strengthening HR Business Partners (HRBPs) as business transformation partners, by streamlining of HR services, and process improvement through the use of AI. Through these efforts, we will realize HR that “believes in the brilliance of our people and empowering them,” and continue to develop the ability to contribute to society as an Integrated Growth Partner.
