Global Chief Sustainability Officer Message

Yuko KitakazeGlobal Chief Sustainability Officer, dentsu
Generating ideas for the future to solve challenges facing society through business
Our offering under our Business-to-Business-to-Society (B2B2S) management policy is Integrated Growth Solutions (IGS). Combining our renewed Mid-Term Management Plan with dentsu’s unique experience and wide-ranging capabilities will enable us to drive innovation that positively impacts the entire business value chain, including our clients and society.
2030 Value Creation Strategy
For dentsu, sustainability is a prerequisite for realizing our purpose, “an invitation to the never before.” Our strategy to promote sustainability is our value creation strategy. In June 2025, with the aim of building a more robust management foundation in response to changing social conditions, we revised our 2030 Sustainability Strategy to the 2030 Value Creation Strategy.

Materiality
To realize our purpose — "an invitation to the never before." — and maximize corporate value for our stakeholders, we have identified our material issues based on a two-axes materiality assessment that considers "importance from management perspective" and "importance from stakeholder perspective". We view these material issues as key to achieving sustainable growth and value creation as we continue to evolve as a B2B2S company.
Environment
At dentsu, we aim to achieve sustainable business growth by integrating environmental risks, opportunities and resilience into our business strategy.
A key focus of our approach to sustainability is the management of environmental risks. We will continue to comply with environmental and other applicable laws and legal reporting and disclosure obligations.
For our business growth to be truly sustainable, we must accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future to mitigate the impacts of climate change. Accordingly, we have set targets to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the value chain by 2040.
External memberships and affiliations
To achieve dentsu’s purpose and vision, we participate in various initiatives that aim to realize an inclusive and sustainable society.
In addition to the above initiatives, dentsu is also a Strategic Partner of the World Economic Forum.
External evaluation of our sustainability initiatives
At dentsu, we actively engage in corporate sustainability initiatives and have received recognition and accreditations from a variety of external agencies.
